Pavona maldivensis - Robust stony coral for living reef aquariums

Pavona maldivensis is an attractive and comparatively easy to care for stony coral that is ideal for saltwater aquariums. With its characteristic flat to leaf-shaped growth structures and its mostly green to brownish coloration, it creates a natural reef look and exciting structure in the aquarium.

This LPS/SPS-like coral is considered robust and adaptable, making it interesting for both advanced beginners and experienced aquarists. With good water quality, moderate to strong currents and sufficient lighting, the Pavona maldivensis shows healthy growth and stable color development.

As a photosynthetic coral, it lives in symbiosis with zooxanthellae and therefore requires suitable light and stable water values. It also contributes to biodiversity and the natural balance in the reef aquarium.
