Light is life.

Most of the corals we keep derive a large part of their energy from symbiosis with algae, which carry out photosynthesis. This is why the right lighting is one of the biggest factors in maintaining a healthy and colorful reef when caring for stony corals.

New schedule for the Straton Pro G1 and G2

After numerous requests for a bolus schedule, I have been working intensively on a new light curve. I also found the previous schedule for the G2 a little too neutral, so I made an adjustment. The result is a new schedule that is slightly more blue-heavy - but not as extreme as the LPS spectrum from ATI.

There are two variants: One specifically for the G2 and one for the G1. Both schedules have the same spectrum, as far as it is technically feasible. As I myself operate both lamps in combination on one system, it was particularly important to me that they produce an identical light image. The spectrum was precisely measured and matched with the help of PARwise.

The new schedule has now been in use for over three months - with great results. The corals are growing magnificently, there are no signs of light stress or burns, and the coloration of the Acropora is particularly impressive.

The Schedule is based on the bolus concept and is therefore perfect for use with bolus. However, it also works excellently for aquarists who do not use a bolus and ensures optimum conditions in the tank.

Suitable for bolus

Our new schedule is suitable for the Fauna Marin bolus system.

Thanks to the optimized configuration of the Straton Pro G2, the overall intensity does not have to be set as high as with the G1 to achieve the same lighting intensity.
